Design and Characterization of Modified Comb Patch Antennas

This work deals with the proposal of a novel type microstrip antenna, called MCPA modified comb patch antenna. The proposed antennas is composed $n$ parallel conductors, fed by common microstrip. A dedicated mathematical framework, based on multiconductors transmission line formalism, for antenna analysis and design. analytical model numerically validated full-wave simulations, resulting in 5% error predicted resonant length. numerical study matching, size, radiation performance carried out. matching increases as number conductors increases, whilst gain made are about half dB higher than equivalent full counterpart. Then, an eighty was realized measured to assess frequency response well its performances. An 1% between value resonance observed. difference 0.67dB found maximum gain, respect simulated one. design appealing printed electronics wearable, on-textile applications.
